Developing your Facilitation Skills

Facilitation is fast becoming a core competency for all leaders who want to make team work more effective and productive. This program will focus on the principles and practices that lie at the core of skilful facilitation and help individuals to create a dynamic group setting in which people truly collaborate, come up with creative solutions, and make sound decisions.

Using the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) Thinking Skills framework, participants will deepen their facilitation skills and practice facilitation at most if not all stages of the model, from the assessment of the task through the design and delivery of the session to the follow-up steps that need to be taken afterward.

Learning Objectives – During this program, participants will:

  • Improve facilitation skills through self-assessment and expert feedback on facilitator’s core competencies and practices
  • Develop skills by facing various facilitation challenges and leveraging facilitation opportunities throughout the program
  • Discover and develop personal style, by identifying current strengths and areas that need improvement

Languages
Offered in English and French (a good level of either language is required)

Facilitators
Tim Dunne, Colette Chambon, Sylvie Courcelle-Labrousse

Please note that group composition by language will be determined based on the total number of people registered for each language. There will be some plenary (whole group) activities where both languages will be used, but the program is structured so that facilitation can be done in each participant’s first language (either English or French).

Please note also that Developing your Facilitation Skills is designed for a maximum number of 12 participants. We advise you register soon if you are interested by this program!
