Process, Tools & Techniques for New Product Development (En) - NEW in 2010!
The CPS process, or any similar creative process, as well as supporting tools and techniques, can effectively be applied to New Product Development. This programme provides participants with a process, and tools to come up with ideas that differ and surpass competitor products, while ensuring the needs of existing and potential customers are met. The key components of New Product Development that will be covered include: - Defining the types of new product that best fit your company
- Turning ideas into concepts
- Defining and developing the product
- Understanding the launch process and planning accordingly (including adequate definitions of roles & responsibilities)
- Assessing project risk & reward
- Managing team atmosphere
- Developing a consolidated action plan, including steps for development review.
The programme will explore the Stage Gate model together with the CPS Thinking Skills framework. Each step of the model is linked to specific tools drawn from the CPS process and from the Product Development and Management Association toolbox. The lead facilitator of this programme is certified by the PDMA association.

- Relate their product development projects to the innovation strategy of their company
- Use innovation forms for gaining insights and ideas to meet the needs of potential customers
- Choose the best idea and transform this idea into a concept, and then move to decision making
- Know how to launch a product and manage risks proactively
